The Fourth Beatitude: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5: 6 What do you hunger for in life? What is righteousness? That which is upright, noble, morally right and ethical. It’s a lifestyle in complete conformity to the will of God.Are you righteous? What does the bible tell us? |

I want to explore the concept of having a fresh encounter with Jesus Christ, having a look again at the absolute majesty and awesomeness of Him. Unfortunately as human beings, we have a propensity to take amazing things and make them average as we're around them a lot. We just end up familiar with things.

What is contentment? The oxford dictionary states: “A state of happiness or satisfaction.” I wonder who here can say they are truly happy or satisfied? We are all quite aware that the world is going through economic turmoil and thousands of people have lost or are going to lose their jobs. You may be in that situation today. So here’s a question…If I were to lose my job, my family, my health….would I be content? |

Love. This is a large topic but it is what lies at the core of Christian living. We studied this topic in our home group over about 6 months and now I’m about to attempt to cram 6 months of learning into 30 minutes. What I propose to do is simply give the main aspects of love and allow scripture to speak for itself. As I go through each passage I encourage you to think of ways you can apply God’s word to your own life. Knowledge of scripture needs to be translated into action. Remember 1 Corinthians 8:1 knowledge puffs up but love builds up. |
